The place was beautiful enough space for our large group . Everybody has their own space and also their own full bathroom . The área is nice and it is close to everything and to many landmarks like palazzo Pitti which is great to visit and also the gardens . The place has an elevator ( small ) but good enough for my mom and mother in law to use and for the bags . Only thing I will say was missing was a light in the entrance or the stairs . . Our host was great give us Great amount of information and he is very responsive , polite and helpful .

The noise from the garbage trucks at 6am and the smell of drainage in the upstaors bathroom

All were corresponding to the description in spite of one important detail - every day at 6 am a garbage truck arrives to pick up containers. These trash containers are located just in front of all windows. It was very very noisy! We understand that in historical buildings windows should remain antic and there is no noise isolation. After 6 pm none of us could sleep any longer. But I would not suggest this apartment to people with sensitive sleep.

Great location. Short walk to everything! Right across from Pitti Palace. Has an elevator to get to the top floor and the place is very accommodating and clean. Felt like we were staying in a luxury hotel but with a comfy home feel. The only downside are the trash trucks that would be emptying trash across the street at 5am. But great great location and would definitely stay again.

Fabulous apartment in Florence and great for families who want/need space.
Very spacious. Lighting inside was very good. The decor made it feel special. The bathrooms were updated and the kitchen had all of the appliances and conveniences you would need. Has an elevator — key for luggage! High ceilings and tall windows allow for a great view.
Needs lighting in the staircase. It’s noisy at night when restaurants are putting trash out and again in the morning when it’s being picked up by the sanitation crews. But, it’s not unbearable.

We had a great stay in the apartment for a long weekend. It is in a fantastic location. The apartment had everything we needed, was clean and warm and was lovely to come back to after lots of walking, eating and sightseeing.

8명, 네 커플이 숙박하기에 적절한 곳이었습니다. 다른 호텔들의 숙박비도 비쌌지만, 친구들끼리 즐겁게 담소할 수 있는 장소가 필요하여 찾던 중 우리가 가려고 한 오페라 아리아 연주회가 열리는 교회 근처라 여기를 선택했습니다. 피렌체의 중앙에서 가까운 곳으로 알고 갔지만, 실제는 훨씬 가깝고 편리했습니다. 늘 베키오다리를 건너서 쭉 걸어 가면 우리가 가려는 피렌체 중심부의 곳곳에 다다를 수 있었어요. 이 숙소는 사진보다 실제가 더 좋았습니다. 사진보다 더 넓다고 느꼈고, 특히 식탁은 우리 8명이 식사하는데 아무 문제가 없었어요.(사진에선 좀 작게 보여 우려했었거든요) 식기 등도 다 구비되었고, 인근에 걸어서 한 3~4분 내에 갈 수 있는 큰 수퍼가 있어서 원래 조식 계획과 달리, 간단한 조리를 하여 숙소에서 다 즐겁게 식사할 수 있었습니다. 피렌체 4박의 일정을 불편함 없이 지낼 수 있었습니다.

The home is lovely and Sara, the manager was extremely helpful. She was flexible on our check-in and check out time. When the air conditioner broke, she found someone who was available to fix it right away. Also, I left some things in the apartment and she is going to mail them to me! She was really an outstanding manager and took care of our every need.

The aircon in the living room was broken. Also the bathroom upstairs and the 2nd bedroom floods as there is no drain for the water to go. Could do with more sockets in the kitchen and a full length mirror somewhere. Otherwise we loved the apartment and very conveniently located.

This apartment in Florence is absolutely perfect! We loved our stay here and Scott, the host, was very helpful giving us lots of great advice on the city and places to go for dinner and such. Spacious clean and comfortable apartment for 7 adults and child. Great central location overlooking the Pitti Palace and lovely views to the Boboli Gardens. The downside is that we were woken early each morning by the noise of refuse trucks and bottle recycling immediately opposite the apartment. The kitchen was well equipped but toaster was too small for most bread and needed more adapters/ sockets for appliances. Could also do with a washing-up bowl. Good space for sitting and eating together but not a lot of room to cook together. Beds were comfortable and showers were great. We had to make a bed on the floor for our 2 year old and wash her in a bucket. Fortunately she didn’t mind! For our large group an extra set of keys or key safe would have been useful. Would have also liked a security safe for our valuables. The apartment comfortably accommodated 8 people in a fantastic location. For the cost we expected it to be excellent. With a few small improvements it could be.

Our stay was wonderful and we utilized the two apartments for our family gathering, this was our second visit with Genteel Home. The apartments were spotless and we loved that the cleaning person came mid stay and cleaned up, which felt like we we had hotel amenities with the privacy and space we wanted. We were welcomed and provided with recommendations and communicated with us clearly throughout the stay. The location is amazing across from Pitti Palace and steps away from the Ponte Vecchio, restaurants and shops right outside the door. Look forward to staying again and would easily recommend it.

Our trip to Florence this time left us with a beautiful impression on both the city and the house. We took a taxi at the entrance when we left the train station, which was quite convenient. The house is located in a quiet and bustling location, very close to the old bridge and the core ancient city area. There are also many good restaurants and bars around it . What impressed me most was that the nearby ice cream shop we pass by is great, and we go to eat it every day. There is a Conad supermarket not far away, with a wide range of products that are convenient for purchasing and cooking. Especially the Pitt Palace across from us is great and worth visiting (it can be purchased in conjunction with the Uffiz Museum of Art). On the first day, there was a small incident where you had better bring the key to the hallway door, otherwise you may accidentally lock yourself outside.

We were two families travelling together (7 adults) and we just loved this apartment! It is beautifully styled and clean, and within walking distance of everything you want to see and do in Florence. Letizia was also fabulous in her communication and recommendations. Would absolutely recommend.

As a family of 5 we were very comfortable in this flat for a week. Three bedrooms on main floor, 1 bedroom/bath up a set of narrow stairs with a low ceiling. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. Beds are firm, bathrooms are very nice with walk in showers. We generally loved the location, but be advised that the neighborhood garbage/recycling is right across the street. Garbage pickup was around 6am every morning and quite loud - so highly recommend ear plugs. Overall we had a great stay!

Sara was a wonderful host from beginning to end. She had been corresponding with me from a few days prior to right up until after. The apartment was spotless and the 4 bathrooms to 4 bedrooms situation is THE BEST. The location was PERFECT and so close to everything without feeling like it was too chaotic. There was a supermarket so close by, and the building had an elevator which was such a great benefit. We had the best stay. Thank you!

The street has both blue and green numbered buildings, so it´s easy to wind up a few blocks down from where you need to be. It also seems that taxis need permission to drive down the street where the building is located. Check with your car service as we found our transfer from Rome left is with a bit of a walk (which is was not easy with all of our luggage!). The apartment itself was great as was Sara. Ask her for recommendations! If we only had enough time to visit all of the places she recommended... There were a few minor issues with the apartment, but that was common of all properties we stayed at during our trip to Italy and this apartment was BY FAR the nicest one. The location is great - a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio, but far enough that you don´t feel suffocated by the crowd. I´d definitely stay here again!

The host were very brash and unresponsive. The A C in one room was not working. The soap and other amenities were very limited. Not worth the price that we paid. Location being good is not enough. The reply to everything thing was we can’t do anything. Would never advice people to book.

Away from the throngs of tourists , this apartment offers a relaxing retreat overlooking Pza de Pitti. The living room/dining room combination provided a spacious gathering place. The open, well supplied kitchen contains a table adequate for sitting six comfortably. Three of the four bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom. The fourth, separated by the dining room enabling guests to use without entering a bedroom. The waterfall showers were a pleasant surprise; a handheld water spray gave sufficient pressure for hair rinsing and for those difficult to reach areas. For the price, guests shouldn’t be asked to buy toilet paper, paper towels, and dish soap. Mornings, our group of six disregarded the 4 supplied Nepresso pods favoring instead to use the house 4-cup espresso machine with the coffee and other daily groceries purchased from the local Sapori & Dintorni market a 5 minute walk towards the Ponte Vecchio. Take the adjacent walkway to find one of the city’s better gelato spots.

Great flat, clean, well located, nice host

The apartment is spacious for the 7 of us. The location is ideal and the air conditioning worked well. I would warn that the 4th bedroom was deemed very uncomfortable by our 15 and 17 year old daughters. The head clearance is very low and they repeatedly hit their heads. The shower does not drain properly in two of the bathrooms and floods the floor. The beds are very hard and the glass breaking noise from outside can be disruptive to sleep. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but for the price some of what I´ve listed here should be addressed.

outstanding hosts - we were greeted by Rafa upon arrival - he showed us around the house, made sure we knew how equipment worked - set up on wifi - additionally Rafa provided recommendations on local restaurants which we used and were very pleased. we had very little issues but anything we needed was provided quickly. The location was excellent as well - walking proximity to train station, shopping, Bobli Gardens and right above cafe for morning coffee i´d stay at this location again

I loved the place, especially because of the location. The host responded very well, booked places for us and solved an electricity problem with great speed and efficiency.

We stayed with a family group of 7. Great location with walkable relatively easy access to most sites in Florence. The check in process was relatively easy. The host met us promptly and showed us around, as well as recommended many restaurants, grocery stores in nearby shops. The home is updated throughout with modern bathrooms. The bathroom/ shower upstairs unfortunately was not draining well and was not usable. The host tried to put Drano, but was not successful. The only other negative comment would be the outside noise. The large trash cans for the community are located directly outside and the trucks to empty the trash come very early in the morning. You can hear their reverse Warning sounds, and the trash being emptied at 6-7am. overall, we did enjoy our stay. I would stay again, but would make sure that the upstairs bathroom was functioning properly.

Very wonderfully located. Apartment not so much inadequate as not really right for older adults, including one bedroom of difficult access, one bedroom really tiny for two people, closet and storage space quite sparse, and all showers dangerous.

The apartment was absolutely beautiful. Each of the four double bedrooms had its own bathroom (3 ensuite) and the kitchen/living area was a generous size, especially for a city-centre building. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and gave us loads of recommendations for things to do during our stay. One point of note is that the bins are emptied in the mornings before the tourists descend, and if you are a light sleeper then take ear-plugs, but others in my party were not affected by the noise from the lorry. I would definitely use Genteel Homes when staying in Europe again.

Pitti apartment was great, very convenient and still in a not too busy part of town. Lots of neighborhoods in Florence and this apartment is convenient for visiting many of them. The apartment’s security was a challenge, had to call for help a couple of times. Owner/manager was very responsive.

The host were extremely friendly. They met us at the location for an easy check in. The house was clean, and had ample space for all 8 of us. We were all together and still had our own privacy. Amazing apartment. Simply the best rental stay I ever had. Excellent furnishing. Charming furnishings. Top WiFi speed and coverage. The family instantly fell in love with the apartment. 4 bedrooms, with three of them having their own en-suite bathrooms (the 4th has its own, across the hallway). There’s is also a sofa bed that we didn’t have to use. Plenty of space for everyone.

Cet appartement très bien situé dans Florence, mais mal insonorisé malgré un double vitrage, n´est manifestement pas habité par de vraies personnes. C´est un appartement lego, un genre de suite dont nous avons occupé 3 chambres avec salle de douche toilette, un living et une cuisine salle à manger. La porte d´entrée de l´appartement donne directement dans la cuisine living ce qui fait qu´on a un peu l´impression d´habiter dans le couloir. Pas grave car peu de mouvements. La porte d´entrée avec une serrure coffre fort est extrêmement difficile à déverrouiller de l´extérieur. Il vaut mieux être à deux. Nous avons attendu 2 heures sur la place Pitti pour entrer, l´agence nous ayant donné un faux numéro pour leur compte en banque. Multiples échanges téléphoniques avec l´agence espagnole Genteel (sic) à Séville qui a refusé à la personne sur place (à 20mn de l´appartement apparemment) de nous laisser entrer. Ils nous ont finalement communiqué un autre numéro de compte qui lui a fonctionné. Excuses les plus plates. Abritel n´a pas pu nous aider malgré son accueil en Roumanie. Nous sommes restés une semaine. Dans la cuisine nous avons trouvé des dosettes de café trop grosses pour la machine, des pastilles pour machine à laver le linge alors qu´il n´y avait qu´une machine à laver la vaisselle. Odeurs pestilentielles dans les 3 salles de bain, probablement des remontées des égoûts de Florence, la plomberie italienne ne semblant pas connaître les siphons qui justement permettent d´éviter ces inconvénients. Les placards à vaisselle sont très hauts ce qui permet d´éviter de se cogner mais il n´y a pas d´escabeau pour atteindre la vaisselle. Attention quand vous vous brossez les dents, la tablette est à hauteur de votre front. Pas de porte savon dans les douches et une lumière qui s´allume automatiquement dans le couloir quand vous voulez transiter entre les chambres. Nous avons fini par localiser les capteurs et les recouvrir de chiffons pour les neutraliser. Chauffage extrêmement bizarre lui aussi. Il y´a des radiateurs qui se mettent en route de manière aléatoire peut-être selon la température extérieure. Cela est compensé par un système de conditionnement d´air qui, met de l´air chaud au plafond, or chacun sait que l´air chaud monte. C´est un procédé coûteux et assez inefficace pour chauffer une pièce. En dehors de ces quelques inconvénients, Florence est une très belle ville, dont le centre est envahi par les touristes.

We stayed at “Santo Spirito” for a 3-day weekend in October, accompanied by our 2 post-college age children and friends. On the positive side, this apartment is very lovely and is tastefully furnished. The location, next to the Pitti Palace and down the street from the Ponte Vecchio, is wonderfully convenient, within reasonably short walking distance of Florence’s major attractions. The windows offer partial views of the Boboli Gardens. The bathrooms and appliances are modern, beds comfortable, and the basic necessities (e.g. soap, shampoo, towels) are provided. On the whole we had a wonderful stay in Florence. There are 3 suggestions we hope the owner will consider. First, we had difficulty getting into the apartment. There is no lockbox and no rental office where one can pick up keys. The check-in agent is very nice, but she does not speak English. Perhaps it is for this reason that she did not answer her telephone. She prefers using WhatsApp and then using a related app for translating texts. Evidently she missed our messages and we ended up waiting with our bags on the street until 6:30 pm, vs an official check-in time of 3:00 pm. Perhaps the owner could install a lockbox, permit guests to pick up keys at an office, or use an agent who can speak a little English. Second, while we loved the location near the Pitti Palace, the apartment is also just across from a garbage collection station. The procession of garbage trucks, and people dumping off empty bottles, can be loud. We were awakened each morning between 5:00 am & 6:30 am, especially on Saturday when 4 sanitation trucks came through. Perhaps it might be possible to upgrade the windows for better sound-proofing or to provide some better form of “white noise” than the existing A/C units. Third, the pricing terms on VRBO’s website should really specify that taxes are in addition to the quoted price. The tax is 4 euros per person per night, which we paid on arrival. These issues aside, we truly enjoyed our time in Florence. It’s a lovely apartment in a highly convenient location. We left 3 bottles of wine to underscore our appreciation.

What a great place to stay with your family.

Absolutely beautiful place, perfectly located within a short walk of everything. Elegantly furnished. Great air conditioning. Comfortable beds (on the firm side). Things to be aware of: It is a 4th floor apartment with a very small elevator that’s a little claustrophobic. We mainly walked up, but keep in mind the stairwell is dark at night. Electricity system was a bit overloaded by AC and other needs and we needed to reset the breakers a few times (fortunately the hosts had showed us how so this was no big deal). The key situation is a little complicated so pay attention to the directions from the hosts. Host communication was great.

We loved it here! Beautiful views of Boboli and Pitti Palace. Lovely cafes, shops all downstairs, less than 5 mins walk to hotspots and yet not living in the middle of all the foot traffic. Would definitely come back next visit to Florence. Wonderful and helpful team. Very helpful, flexible and kind. We felt very lucky to find this happy place!

A fantastic place with great kitchen and bathrooms. Spacious. Fast Wi-Fi. Perfect location. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
