At the beginning of the 20th century, the house became the property of the Salinas family, who subjected it to a delicate restoration process to restore its original appearance, which had been partially altered with interventions carried out throughout its four hundred years of existence. history, and especially around 1900.

Currently, it shows off its primitive 16th century structures with elements from the time of its construction, aesthetically harmonized as reflected in its warm and comfortable interiors.

Hospital de la Santa Caridad is located in the heart of the Arenal neighborhood, a Baroque building built in 1663 and founded by Miguel Mañara to welcome the multitude of patients left behind by the epidemics that devastated the city in the 17th century.

It is a sample of baroque architecture with a palatial, conventual, hospital and ecclesiastical style. Mixing large arched courtyards with small gardens topped by high galleries and a majestic chapel inside which paintings, sculptures, frescoes, plasterwork and altarpieces by the main artists representing the Sevillian Baroque school: Bartolomé E. Murillo, Valdés Leal, Pedro Roldán, Bernardo Simón de Pineda and Francisco de Zurbarán.

The Brotherhood of Santa Caridad is still dedicated to maintaining a charity home for the elderly without economic or social resources.
