What measures against Covid-19 are there in Andalusia after the State of Alarm in Spain?

The summer season is approaching and many of you will be thinking of spending your holidays on the Andalusian coasts or perhaps visiting an inland city. If you want to know about the preventive measures against Covid-19 established in the provinces of Almeria, Cadiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaen, Malaga and Seville, and you want to know the opening and closing times of bars, monuments, cinemas or swimming pools, we will tell you everything you need to know for your trip.

Since May 9, after the end of the State of Alarm in Spain, the Autonomous Community of Andalusia implements its new measures against Covid-19. These measures are divided into 3 phases, Phase 1: Stabilization (from May 9 to May 31), Phase 2: Advancement (from June 1 to 21) and Phase 3: Normalization (from June 22 onwards).

Every Thursday the Andalusian Government Council meets to assess the situation of the Andalusian provinces weekly and adopt the necessary measures for each territory, these measures will be determined according to the level of incidence in the area, with Level 1 being the lowest and Level 4 the highest.

Andalusia continues in Phase 1 of Stabilization one more week after the end of the State of Alarm in Spain. It will be next week when it is decided on the change of Phase in the community.

From 00:00 hours on Thursday, May 27, the Level of the different health districts of the Andalusian territory is updated. Keeping one more week Cádiz, Costa del Sol and Malaga at Level 1 and therefore having more flexible measures against Covid-19.

On the other hand, Seville continues at Level 2, and it  will have to wait until next week to see how the pandemic and vaccinations continue to evolve to see if it can begin to have less restrictive measures.

Granada remain at Level 3 and like Seville, it will have to wait for a favorable evolution of contagion cases to be able to advance in the de-escalation.

We are currently in Phase 1: Stabilization, which will take place from May 9 to 31. The community becomes open, it is mandatory to wear a mask, except for children under 6 years of age and there is no curfew.

Bahía de Cádiz-La Janda, Costa del Sol y Málaga.

The health districts in which Cádiz capital, Marbella, Estepona or Málaga capital are located, among many others, become Level 1 and therefore some of the measures taken can be relaxed. As for example in bars and restaurants where you can now be up to 8 people indoors and up to 10 people per table on terraces.

Sevilla.

The capital of Seville is now at Level 2 and the measures are more permissive, If you come to enjoy a bullfighting show at the Real Maestranza, there are 6 maximum people for each group with a separate location as in cinemas, theaters and circuses. At this level, both bars and restaurants are 6 people per table indoors and up to 8 if it is on the terrace.

Granada.

From this Thursday, May 20, the Nasrid city will continue on Level 3, the capacity is generally smaller both in the hostelry, with a maximum number of 4 people per table indoors and up to 6 people outdoors, as in celebrations, shows, cinemas, theaters, cultural visits such as the Alhambra, etc.

If you are thinking of visiting any of the Andalusian cities but you have doubts about: At what level is the city to which I am going to travel? What are the measures against COVID-19? Is there a curfew? How many people can we meet? Is it mandatory to wear a mask?.

We are going to tell you everything you need to know to spend an incredible vacation in Andalusia. You will know at what level each territory is, how many people can sit together on a terrace, until what time pubs are open, if there are shows, shops open, cinemas, theaters, etc. If you can visit the Alhambra in Granada, the Giralda or the Alcazar of Seville, what can you do on the beaches of Malaga, Costa del Sol or Cadiz and many more things that you have in mind for your holidays and many more things that you have in mind for your vacations. Below we detail the measures of the Junta de Andalucía for each Level.


Measures adopted in Andalusia for Level 1.


What are the measures to visit Andalusia in Level 1? If you want to do a tour of the city at this level, it is allowed with a maximum of 25 people with a tour guide and 30 if what you prefer are nature activities. But if what you really want is to have some tapas in the most typical bars of the city, in that case you should know that at this level both bars and restaurants close at 00:00 and it is allowed 8 people indoors and 10 people per table on the terrace.

The shops of the Andalusian towns will allow 100% of the capacity while cinemas, theaters and circuses will have a capacity of 75% with a separate seat. But what about theme parks like Isla Mágica? The attractions are allowed with a 75% capacity if they have seats and ⅔ capacity if they do not have it and with 1.5m of distance, on the other hand,  without a distance of 1.5m it would become 1/3 of the capacity. Are there bullfighting shows? What are the measurements during bullfights? In Level 1 the measures in bullfighting shows are 60% of capacity with a separation location.

Finally, what about the clubs and pubs? Well, we have to tell you that in Andalusia they are open with measures, customers must remain seated and maintain a distance of 1.5m, it is allowed 8 people per table with 75% capacity indoors and 10 people per table with 100% capacity on the terrace, also consumption is allowed in a bar with a distance of 1.5m and also performances only with dancing outdoors and a mandatory mask. Until what time can I be at the disco or pub? In this case the Andalusian pubs and discos close at 2 a.m.


Measures adopted in Andalusia for Level 2.


What about tourism and hostelry at Level 2? If you travel to one of the Andalusian cities at this level and come to visit one of the many historical monuments or want to take a city tour, you have to know that the tours are carried out with a maximum of 20 people and if they are nature activities with a maximum of 30 people. Regarding the hostelry, what time do bars and restaurants close? You can have dinner quietly in the bars and restaurants until 12 p.m with 6 people per table indoors and 8 people per table on the terrace.

Both shops and cinemas, theaters and circuses will allow a capacity of 75% with a separate seat. If you come to spend the day at the theme park, you should know that in the attractions a 60% capacity is allowed if it has seats and 50% of capacity without seats always with 1.5m of distance, on the other hand, without distance of 1, 5m would become 30% of capacity. Are you coming to see a bullfight? In Level 2 the measures in bullfighting are 50% of capacity with a space of separation and it is not allowed for more than 6 people per group.

Finally, can I go to a disco or pub? Well yes, in level 2 we can go to discos and pubs following a series of measures, customers must remain seated with a safety distance of 1.5m, nightclubs and pubs close at 02:00 a.m., indoor capacity is 50% with six people per table and 100% capacity on the terrace with 8 people allowed per table, at this level only outdoor bar consumption is allowed and only outdoor performances are allowed but dancing is not allowed.


Measures adopted in Andalusia for Level 3.


What are the measures for Andalusian towns that are in Level 3? In tourism, a 50% capacity is allowed in outdoor common areas of the hotels and ⅓ indoors, on the other hand if you want to do a tour or tourist activity you should know that they are allowed in groups of 15 people with a tour guide and if they are activities in nature with 20 people.

Regarding the hostelry, what are the hours of the bars and restaurants in Andalusia on Level 3? The hostelry on this level closes at 12 at night. In bars and restaurants, up to 4 people per table indoors and 6 people per table on the terrace are also allowed.

Are the shopping centers open? Yes and they allow 60% of the capacity respecting the distance of 1.5m. Cinemas, theaters and circuses are also open with 75% of the capacity and a separate seat, being the public seated all the time. And what are the measures for bullfighting shows on Level 3? There must be a distance of 1.5m and only 40% of maximum capacity is allowed,so run the tickets are running out. And if you want to go to the theme park, you can go but in attractions with seats only 50% capacity is allowed and without seats 30% if there is a distance of 1.5m, in case of no distance only 20% is allowed capacity.

And what about pubs and discos? Well they are open but with enough restrictions, customers must remain seated and with a safety distance of 1.5m, the capacity is 50% for both indoors and outdoors, with 4 people per table indoors and 6 people per table outdoors, And can I dance? Well no, neither consumption in the bar nor musical performances nor dancing is allowed.


Measures adopted in Andalusia for Level 4.


What are the measures in Andalusia at Level 4? In the tours only groups of 10 people with a tour guide are allowed and 15 in case of nature activities. But can I go have a drink at a bar? You can go but only 30% capacity is allowed indoors with 4 people per table and 75% capacity on the terrace with 6 people per table, all bars and restaurants close at 12 p.m.

And can I go shopping at the mall? Yes and they allow 50% of the capacity respecting the distance of 1.5m. Theaters and circus cinemas are also open with 50% of the capacity and a distance of 1.5m. And what are the measures for bullfighting shows at level 4? There must be a distance of 1.5m and only 40% of maximum capacity is allowed, so run the tickets are running out. Can I take my children to the theme park? Yes, in attractions with a seat 30% is allowed and without seats 20% of capacity if there is a safety distance, in case there is no distance the attraction will remain closed.

Lastly, are the clubs and pubs on Level 4 open? No, we are sorry to tell you that they are not open on Level 4. Pubs can open only with hostelry use and standards, which means,  not only sell drinks.


Reinforcement measures in all phases

Perimeter closure of towns and non-essential activity. In towns with more than 5,000 population that exceed 1,000 cases per 100,000 population. In towns with less than 5,000 population, a specific evaluation will be carried out by the Territorial Alerts Committee.
